1. Smart Cabrio
It doesn’t matter which model (generation) you chose, if you are a solo traveler or a couple: the convertible Smart ForTwo is for you. Anyone who has been to Mykonos before knows that size matters. But the twist in this case is: the smaller-the better. It takes up as much space as some of our ATVs, so parking is not really an issue. Imagine the ease of driving around on a ATV but instead being able to have all your things lying around in the car – glasses, towels, water, coffee etc. Be able to feel the sun on your skin and the breeze in your hair whilst having a conversation and actually hearing what the other person says. And to be able to just close the top with the push of a button if you had enough sun for the day or when it gets chilly after sundown. Do you really need more reasons? Rent it here.
Fun fact – If you are old enough to remember Swatch watches (1980), Swatch CEO Nicolas Hayek decided in 1982 that he wanted to manufacture a car using the same stratagem and personalization that made Swatch watches so popular. 2. Suzuki Jimny
There are a lot of mixed feelings about this car. It is not the most comfortable drive – some customers describe it as bumpy. Most models don’t have A/C or any sound system worth mentioning. The canvas top doesn’t close tight enough and lets through wind. It has only two doors so to get into the back seat you have to do a jump squat. But still it is one of our favorite cars. Why? It might be bumpy, but it is very comfortable to know that this car will make it up any hill and through any terrain. Air-conditioning is overrated in Mykonos when it always is windy anyway, with the Jimny you are supposed to just open the canvas top and windows and enjoy the freedom. Another huge plus is the size of this car. It is narrow and very easy to maneuver. It is the ultimate island car. For music lovers – bring a portable speaker. Rent it here.

3. Jeep Wrangler

Fun fact – The Jeep is the Godfather of 4x4s. The market is full of other off-roading 4x4s, including Land Rover, Toyota, and Ford vehicles. You can credit Jeep for inspiring the designs of these cars—even the first Land Rover prototype made in 1947 used a Jeep chassis. However, we think the Wrangler did it best!
